Molly Brown House Museum in Denver, CO

The 1889 Queen Anne and Richardsonian Romanesque house was designed by architect William A. Lang and purchased by J.J. and Margaret Brown in 1894. After narrowly escaping demolition, Historic Denver restored it and opened the museum in 1971. Today self-guided and guided tours walk through period rooms that interpret Victorian Denver, women’s suffrage, labor advocacy and Brown’s Titanic story. Landmark plaques and a National Votes for Women Trail marker sit outside; the museum store stays open until about 30 minutes before closing.

Hours are Wednesday–Sunday 10:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with Thursdays open until 7:00 p.m.; last entry is one hour before closing. Self-guided adult tickets are about $17 ($2 off for Colorado residents); seniors 70+, military and college students with ID about $15; juniors ages 6–18 about $13. Guided tours run about an hour and cost more — book ahead because popular times sell out. The first Thursday of each month offers free SCFD voter evenings from 4:00–7:00 p.m. for residents of Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties. Call (303) 832-4092 with questions.
