Eldora Mountain Resort is Boulder County’s hometown ski hill: 680 acres and 63 trails above Nederland, just 21 miles west of Boulder, with a quick Canyon Boulevard approach and enough steep glades and terrain parks to keep locals coming back all season.

Eldora sits at a base of about 9,200 feet with a summit near 10,600 feet and roughly 1,400 feet of vertical. Ten lifts serve Challenge Mountain, Corona Bowl and the Indian Peaks side, and the resort averages around 193 inches of snow a year. It is a true day-trip mountain for Denver and Boulder skiers who want to skip the I-70 backup, though weekend parking can fill and single-occupancy vehicle fees apply on busy days.

Opening day for the 2026-27 season is scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2026, weather permitting. Weekday lifts run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; weekends start at 8:30 a.m. After skiing, drop into Nederland for coffee or a meal, or continue down the canyon toward Eldorado Canyon State Park and Pearl Street Mall in Boulder for an easy Front Range day.

Insider tip: Non-holiday weekdays are the sweet spot for parking and shorter lift lines. Check the morning snow report before you leave, especially if you are driving a single-occupancy vehicle on a powder day.
